Without Guns

Things are getting serious.

Craic is ceol, too much ól,

Green green grass where the dole queue grows.

Now the boogie man’s an empty ATM, at all costs they must be saved.

A system collapses under the weight of its own fraud,

we could fight

in this war without guns –

the Mad Hatter’s game of monopoly that strangles.

What is worse?

The unknown, or what we already know? -

the credit vampire served over those of blood and bone.

We’re told that they’re too big to fail,

And they’re thriving out of the mess that they’ve made.

Rage, mourn, shrug, sigh

Bond, share, change, rise.

Niamh de Barra is an Irish musician currently based in Eindhoven.
