What is it like to be old?

Age Action Ireland has invited secondary school students throughout Ireland to participate again this year in Essay/Short Story and Photography competitions on the subject of ageing. Last year the prize winners came from Dublin, Cork , Monaghan and Westmeath. The closing date is 3 December.

The leader of the Seanad and former Education Minister, Mrs Mary O'Rourke, has already launched the competitions, which are open to Transition Year students or Fourth Years(15-17 years) in more than 700 schools around the country.

The competitions are part of Age Action Ireland's mission to improve solidarity between the generations.

Details of the competition can be got by ringing Sinead Quinn or Daragh Matthews at 01-4756989 or by logging on to www.ageaction.ie from where the entry form can be cut and pasted to a word document.
